Projects & Programs Clerks of Superior Court Custodianship Project

Overview

With the passage of SB 135 ("Clerks of Superior Court Custodianship Bill") during the 2015 Georgia General Assembly's legislative session, Clerks of Superior Court were mandated to protect the integrity of electronic records by protecting them via a redundant electronic backup process.

One segment of the electronic backup process involves Clerks of Superior Court submitting any electronic record to the Clerks' Authority. The records submitted to the Authority must be transmitted at least by the 15th of every month. Clerks of Superior Court participating in the Authority's MyVault program meet the frequency requirement automatically since records are backed up daily via MyVault.

For Clerks of Superior Court who are unable to participate in MyVault, the Clerks' Authority is providing additional backup options which include file specification for county use.
